Hi Everyone!  As we start the new year us Moderators have gotten our cyber brooms out and are now tidying up abit. Part of that is to start a new Furry Friends thread so the old thread can be moved over into the archives.  I will start with a photo or two and hope you will find time to continue on as we have done...rather merrily.  I did add two photos to the old thread that I think I will port over here, just to keep things going.   So....welcome to the new Furry Friends chat thread! Come one, come all.

Here's Vincent helping my Brita Water Filter Pitcher to work right.

I took care of my roommate's hedgehog over Christmas break and decided to make a 2015 calendar for her.

    • This just makes me giggle...

      Animal Problems

      • I was expecting both of those to just give me one photo but they gave me the whole of both strips...oh well.

    • Hahahahahah!  And that's why there are no leather shoes or real fur trimmed shoes in our house-no temptations!  Katie enjoys the cat food more anyways but the larger dogs do love to chew!

  • This tortoise, apparently called Fred, really has it in for this cat. I find it very amusing.

I think this is cute...two foxes playing in the snow. Below this I put a link to a video of a lady in Alaska who opens her door because she hears the Bald Eagle calling her and this is what she finds. Clearly she must feed them and they're getting impatient!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSEd6O0bBFs

This is what she says about the video:

First of all just let me explain the hot water heater! My hot water heater leaked and flooded my kitchen and so I just went through getting it replaced. We have had so much snow (it's melting now) that it was too hard to carry it through all the snow to get to the landfill so it and other building materials are hanging out on my porch until more snow is gone. See how the fox, eagle and cat are all just fine hanging out and no one is trying to attack anyone and they are getting along just fine? Notice the eagle in the background on the lamp post down by the street. That is the partner to this eagle. They aren't always out to attack and kill each other. Our fox and eagles and cats basically get along just fine here. Sometimes if there is food they might fight over the food some. I live in Unalaska, Alaska in the Aleutian Islands. Also, earlier in the day when the fox first came Gizmo my cat went right up to the fox and told him to leave. It was too funny! But the fox came right back!

    • And if you think that eagle will get those cats...take a look at this.  Cute video of new fox kits but the eagle is sitting right beside 3 cats!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htMMSy3bRCU

She has a series of videos, one of an immature eagle who has no clue what a cat is, he even cranes his head upside down at one point trying to figure out what the cat is...he even tries licking it with his tongue.  Cat is completely not bothered.  Wow.  You can see the videos in a list on the right hand side.  Just find the poster's name. :)

I include one more...in this you see more eagles than I've ever seen at once...because somebody left frozen fish in the back of their truck.  I've seen similar if someone leaves groceries in the back of their truck, with our large ravens but this is quite a sight.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSQf66rTZvY

  • Well here is a pair who are happy outside in the snow!

    • And these are what walk right through town here.

  • This pretty much sums me up in a nutshell.
