FEBRUARY THEME

FRUIT and FLOWERS

Over the years this has been a regular theme: a sign of freshness, beauty and hope, bringing colour and warmth to our KAS kids.

I confess to being a hopeless

knitter. Crochet is more in my line. Fortunately here at Knit-a-Square we are all welcomed with open arms

Combining both techniques can also be fun, sewing appliqué crochet onto a knit base for example, or appliqués

onto a crochet square.

Please don’t worry if a little veggie sneaks in. It will be welcome among the fruit and flowers.

Finally we would have no fruit, flowers or veggies without the help of the sun, rain and friendly insects.

Don't forget that February's colour is ORANGE

So glad to see you back, Valerie.

This looks to be a creative and colorful month.   Can't wait to see what appears on these pages.   Now to get my own hook (or, occasionally, needles) going.  I have plenty of orange yarn, and other colors to accent, too.

I've knit these 10 hats with the leftover pretty variegated wool from my last blanket  (No59).    I also used several other solid colours up to knit and tone with it.    A little pretty floral yellow as a nod to the theme, and some CoM orange too - winner, winner!

Yet again Karen, beautifully crafted warm hats :)

Karen, your hats are gorgeous! All the colours you used are so well combined together.

Karen, in case you don't speak French, Mireille says that she loves this hat pattern because it fits close to the head. She loves your choice of bright colours that the children will love. Mixed colours can bring surprising results, but her favourites are the two white and the turquoise. All of them are beautiful

Another beautiful collection of hats from your needles.   More happy, warm children.

LOVE all these cheery combinations of hats, Karen....but the orange one peeking out from under the others on the top row, is definitely calling 'pick me, pick me!!' (for my fave of the day)

These are great.

Wish I had access to this yarn...scrumptious.

Love these, Karen. They have the look of Fair Isle.

CREATECARE GLOBAL

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."

Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
