FEBRUARY THEME
FRUIT and FLOWERS
Over the years this has been a regular theme: a sign of freshness, beauty and hope, bringing colour and warmth to our KAS kids.
I confess to being a hopeless
knitter. Crochet is more in my line. Fortunately here at Knit-a-Square we are all welcomed with open arms
Combining both techniques can also be fun, sewing appliqué crochet onto a knit base for example, or appliqués
Please don’t worry if a little veggie sneaks in. It will be welcome among the fruit and flowers.
Finally we would have no fruit, flowers or veggies without the help of the sun, rain and friendly insects.
Don't forget that February's colour is ORANGE

What a precious little bunny Sharon. This will make a marvelous centerpiece to any blanket.
The volunteers in The Barn are going to have such fun with all the squares from this theme when they arrive in South Africa.
Loving that shade of green!
Beautiful bunny, Sharon, and I love that shade of green.
She is a lovely bunny Sharon and I’m she she will be much loved by the child who receives it :)
Such a cute bunny with a bow in her hair.
Well, it's the end of February, but that doesn't mean the end of the fruit and flowers squares. You can all go on making as many as you like and show them in the What's on your Hook(or needle) in March. I have enjoyed seeing all the lovely squares and reading the various stories. Thank you everyone for your contributions.
I have one more contribution. It's only part of a group. But the other squares are not quite finished yet.
LOVE your squares, Valerie. The soft dove grey is the perfect background for your cute appliques. xo
Valerie, these are so pretty! Did you cross stitch the flower in the pot and those delicious-looking cherries? xo
I cross stitched the cherries, crocheted the flower and found the flower in pot applique in a jumble sale.
Your cross stitching is extremely pretty, Valerie. I know this ... hehe ... xo
Ohh, really liking your squares, Valerie, and can't wait to see the rest. But, as always, NO Pressure!
Thank you for a wonderful theme month, and lots of pretty, warm, happy things for the children in South Africa.
Valerie, thank you so much for a very tasty and calorie free month.
I loved seeing all the flowers and bright orange squares, too.
