FEBRUARY THEME

FRUIT and FLOWERS

Over the years this has been a regular theme: a sign of freshness, beauty and hope, bringing colour and warmth to our KAS kids.

I confess to being a hopeless

knitter. Crochet is more in my line. Fortunately here at Knit-a-Square we are all welcomed with open arms

Combining both techniques can also be fun, sewing appliqué crochet onto a knit base for example, or appliqués

onto a crochet square.

Please don’t worry if a little veggie sneaks in. It will be welcome among the fruit and flowers.

Finally we would have no fruit, flowers or veggies without the help of the sun, rain and friendly insects.

Don't forget that February's colour is ORANGE

This isn't meant to represent anything in particular, but I thought they were nice fruity colours.

These are GREAT fruity colours, Patricia...I am thinking citrus.  :))

LOVE the placements of the dark green to highlight/contrast with, the other colours.

Joli à croquer Patricia : ce carré évoque bien les agrumes, l'orange plus précisément

Patricia, these colours are lovely.  As far as a representation, the child who receives it in a blanket will have his or her own ideas, I'm sure, and that's the fun of it ... xo

Quite right, Gloria. Only last week I could clearly see a dog in the pattern on my son's birthday card but no-one else could see what I meant!

It's a lovely orange, Patricia, nice and juicy and ready to eat.

While others are seeing juicy fruits, I am seeing a bright cheerful sun, maybe because I am allergic to fruit and don't eat it.   Either way, it is a lovely square.

Oh Sharon, how awful for you!! I cannot imagine not being able to eat fruit. One of the things that makes Summer more 'palatable' for me, is knowing that stone fruit is in abundance for this season. I eat very little fruit, except oranges and mandarins, the rest of the year.

Loving all the different colors...lots of tails to sew in.

It’s a lovely square Patricia these colours are popular now.

Very fruity, lovely fresh colours :)

Yes, it looks very fruity! I can see a slice of juicy orange.

CREATECARE GLOBAL

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."

Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
