This is a beautiful blanket! Variegated with some purple, green stripes, and a border crocheted by a friend. Couldn't be more perfect. Thank you Karen and Pat ... xo
A great blanket, Karen. I love that shade of green but it doesn't seem to be available in yarn very often. You were lucky to find this and you used it so wisely.
Thanks, Marion. I'll wait patiently (or not so patiently :) to see your chain stitch squares. I always thought there would be too many ends to tuck in when finished so was pleasantly surprised when I learned how wrong I was ... haha ... xo
Such a pretty blanket, Karen!! LOVE the border you and Pat have created....great collaboration!!
Stripes, Diagonals & Variegateds
my second attempt at uploading, my first disappeared to somewhere unknown.
i seem to have been knitting this blanket for ages.
the base is 3 x 100 Gm packet of Rainbow Yarn, I searched my stash for complimentary brights. I actually started knitting the diagonal squares when visiting mum during the Olympics, we watched whilst I knitted. I eventually finished the 24 squares around Christmastime, then my least favourite job stitching up. I added the borders whilst wat hing the tennis last week. Unlike Gloria in Canada, it is summer here and last week was very hot! So it was hard work with a blanket on my lap. But it's done, I hope you like it.
Sandra
Sandra, your diagonal composition is fantabulous!! Even more so knowing you were working on it for so long and in the heat! Thank you for your diligence in completing it. As all of your blankets are, this is a showpiece :)
Too bad we can't make a trade - a bit of your sunshine and warm weather for a bit of my snow and ice ... xo
It's a beauty, Sandra! Bright, cheerful colors will make a cold winter day feel so warm.
WOW!! Your blanket is just soooo bright and cheery, Sandra......LOVE the colours, SUPER design!!
I can't imagine having the blanket on your lap in this weather....some days last month I found it so hot just knitting a square. :))
Sandra your blanket is a fantastic, joyful display of bright colours and shapes that any child would love to have to keep them warm :))
I love this blanket Sandra. Firstly it's fantastic wool, and secondly what you've applied it to is stunning. Kudos ❤️
WOW Sandra that’s one stunning blanket!
