Susan, I made 4 strips in C2C. Two strips of 15x140 cm and 2 strips of 35x140 cm and then joined them, C2C has the advantage that both sides of the pattern are the same, so I could easily turn the  parts to get the diagonals opposite to each other.

I've made strips of squares but I've never thought to do that with C2C, Anneke. Thank you for the details. Another idea for the future!
