FEATHER/ MO HAIR YARN.

Hi Everyone, I have a lot of feather and soft, fluffy yarn left over from various projects. I was wondering if we were able to use this yarn and incorporate it with synthetic yarn to make up our squares? Thanks and happy knitting Hannah.

  • Great idea. Thanks for the heads up.
    • Just to add, if you are using 2 strands of yarn, including fluffy throughout, this maybe wouldn't be a problem.

After casting off, just sew in the fluffy one and leave the plain one as a tail.

  • Hi Hannah,

Like you I have quite a bit of fluffy yarn that I want to try to incorporate in squares.

One thing that did occur to me, was about the tail that is left on the squares for sewing up in SA.

Obviously not essential, but I would have thought it easier for the sewers if this tail was in a plain yarn rather than fluffy.

For this reason, maybe like me, you might consider incorporating as stripes or in the middle of the square, rather than at the cast on or cast off ends.

    Just a suggestion.

  • Hannah,

You can use any kind of yarn you'd like as long as it end up making a warm square =)! I often combine thinner or feathery yarn with another strand or two of something else to bulk it up a little.
