Another photo of Ingrid Bergman knitting on set (for you doubters who thought the last one was staged!) She's clearly not a beginner!

Message on KAS Facebook page from Fiona Cassidy, Bath, Somerset.  [Does anyone in Bath need the bag of wool. Have recommended the squares be taken to Bath Jigsaw branch, they can still be used even though they are not quite the correct size. Pam A.]

Hi. I hope you dont mind me posting here but it seems a good place to start. My mother in law, who died earlier this year, was a keen knitter and she left behind some squares and a big bag full of wool. I would like to find a charity for them to go to. The squares are smaller than 8 inches - 12 of 6 inches and 12 of 4 inches. Can anyone suggest where I could send them (no time to take up knitting myself!)? Cheers Fiona

Stumbled across you today. I have been using up my stash making babies hats and vests which I was going to give to a local hospital. I will now be sending them your way and making squares to go along with them.

From KAS Facebook page from Barbara Penn extolling the virtues of KAS :

There are so many dear children in need of our help. Make an 8" x 8" cardboard square & use it for your guide to knit or crochet a square (better yet, lots of squares!) to send to S. Africa to be made into warm blankets. A knit cap or a simple vest/sweater is a good beginner's project & will be much appreciated. The KAS Cuddle (baby cocoon) will help keep a baby warm, especially if you make a cap to match. Many of these little ones sleep on cold linoleum floors & wear only a little shirt & diaper. They are orphaned or abandoned & are taken in by loving strangers with few resources, but who can provide shelter. AIDS has often killed one or both parents. The lucky children have an older sibling or a grandparent to care for them, but who are poor and sometimes suffering from tuberculosis. Make what you can. The need is very great & there is no such thing as too much help. Look on the knit-a-square home page for patterns.

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."
