DECEMBER THEME - Stash Busters, Easy Peazies, Plain Janes and Other FavoriteS!

Welcome to December! We've made it to the last month of the year and are all getting busy with various holidays and time spent with friends and loved ones. Time to clean out our stash baskets and use up those bits and bobs in colorful squares, so we can all go out and get new yarns for the coming year of knitting and crocheting to help keep the children warm! Time to relax with an easy plain Jane and a cup of warm tea or cocoa. Time to reflect on the beauty of the blankets we've helped create, and ponder on new ideas for the coming year. Bless all the wonderful world-wide KASers who work so diligently to warm the children!

The only Easy Peazies I had to do was making a picture of this Flags-of-the-world blanket which I made for the August Theme and upload it on my photo page. :)

That's one of the nice things of the December Theme, just feel free to do what you like to do :)

I am fond of nice edgings :))  Lucy from Attic 24 has designed this lovely 3-rows edging. I have chosen 3 colours of the flag of South  Africa.

Two blankets.  One is sewn, the other is crocheted.  I much prefer crocheting the squares together.

These are made up of squares I've been storing both mine and donated ones.  You will notice a spiral square that missed being sent with the others !

2015 December - Easy Peasy

2015 December - Easy Peasy

At Knit for Life we receive donated 'squares' of all shapes and sizes; squares can be anything from 4 inches to 10 inches (and everything in between) as well as rectangles, rhomboids, parallelograms and some I would have difficulty defining in geometric terms!  In keeping with this month's theme, I've been trying to sort out some of the odd sizes - one of our lovely volunteers is currently making a blanket out of 8 x 7 inch rectangles.  Meanwhile, I've started upsizing some of the 6 and 7 inch squares as well as using up some of my mountain of woolly scraps.  Consequently, my output this month so far is a bit of a mixed bag......

Christmas Monster Smiley

Nine squares to add to December's challenge - I've been using up some of my yarn and have sewn them together, ready - I intend to make this the centre panel for a blanket that's on-the-go.

Karen, I LOVE this!  Adorable teddy in the middle :)  What a gorgeous blanket it will be with this at the centre!  xo

This is beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished blanket.

Adorable middle square, Karen Lovely colors!

This is a Tunisian Illusion tree square :)

X-mas snowflake.
