During December, we have decided to continue "relaxing" with Plain Jane Squares, with the added features of stash busting, and finishing UFOs (UnFinished Objects).

In addition, we can work on Ronda's latest Wish List, which you can find here:

http://forum.knit-a-square.com/forum/topics/wish-list-challenge-ronda-s-winter-drive-to-ensure-that-kas-has-e

There's something for everyone this month! Everything goes! If you want to make squares, have at it with Plain Janes and Stash Busters. If you feel like something more challenging, pull out that UnFinished Object and have a go at it.

Do what you can. Remember, you don't have to solve the problems of the world on your own. We are a worldwide group that, through our common efforts, provides blankets for children, one square at a time!

I am maintaining just one flickr page right now, dedicated to photos of Ronda's current Wish List. I'm mostly posting photos of clothing, but may add a few squares. You can see it here:

  • December Challenge - PJs

It is now 11:54pm on 31st December, so musn't dilly dally with my blurb. These are some pjs knitted up in some very pretty lilac and varigated yarns given to me for Christmas by my friend, Kym....unfortunately as usual my camera hates my knitting and doesn't want to represent the colours truthfully...lol. Happy New Year one and all. :o)

2930182194?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024This is my 17th complete blanket, finished just in time for the December Plain Janes challenge! I titled it "Sunshine and Lollipops" as it reminded me of the song of the same name.

I have uploaded a second, close up photo of this blanket as the 'full' one doesn't really show the lovely rainbow colours in the variegated squares properly. (It was a slightly dull day when I took the photo and it was almost impossible to get the colours to look right).

  • Jana has asked me to post her latest contribution here on her behalf - it is a pleasure!

  • I'm new to the group. I just sent out my first package on Tuesday. It included 3 hats and 10 squares. I'm having a lot of fun crocheting squares so far. I'm learning new patterns, which is always a plus, and stash-busting! A few pics below of what I sent.

  • This square was made by my daughter Cathy. I think it took her 30 minutes! She reminds me of Maria. She also just taught herself to crochet and whips up gorgeous hats and sweaters like there was nothing to it! She promises to teach me during the holidays. I hope I catch on. I'm dying to try Mary's and Linda's patterns!2930184005?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024

  • I'm having fun stashbusting !  This one used up a lot of small, thin yarn balls (doubled)

  • 2930176309?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024My second batch of plain jane 'stashbuster' squares for December. Made from left over bits from other recent projects.

9 knitted 'stashbuster' squares.  Mostly black, pink and some left over bits from other more recent projects.  I like how the black really brings out the colours in the other yarns.

  • I have fallen head over heels in love with Tunisian crochet :)
