When I hosted this theme last December I used this photo from the archives in my introduction and said I would like to try to make one of these style of squares. I didn't get round to it last year so thought I would give it a try this year. I've made one knitted and one crochet - completely random and made up as I went along. I'd love other people to give it a go as well.

What a great idea, Patricia. A few years back, a friend of mind made a baby blanket using different stitch patterns throughout. It was gorgeous. Your squares are stunning and your pattern changes are so interesting. I agree it would be lovely to see some of these from others. I might even give it a go. Thanks for the idea ... xo

Une idée géniale Patricia vos carrés sampler: évidemment au tricot c'est plus difficile d'obtenir des bords réguliers selon les points mais on peut toujours égaliser avec un tour au crochet. Encore une idée originale qui permet de "réviser" nos points ou d'en apprendre de nouveaux : ces patchworks sont très innovants et parfaits pour utiliser nos nombreux restes de laine et ajouter de la fantaisie aux carrés.

Thank you, Mireille. I agree about the edges (particularly where I used the 2x2 rib) but once the squares are sewn together it tends to work out OK.
