Sweet squares with STUNNING flowers, Marion. :))
Marion, these are so pretty and delicate-looking! The crunch stitch is the perfect background for your lovely flowers. I actually watched a video about making these flowers and was meaning to try them but, as usual, have not yet got around to it! Thank you for the reminder :)) I love to see Tunisian Crochet popping up in our themes ... xo
Thanks to everyone for all your lovely comments, I love making the flowers and use a normal crochet hook.
Gloria, you started me off with TC and I love it, but unfortunately my TC Hooks are now gathering dust on the shelf along with my knitting needles because of the problems I have had with my neck. ( OH, one of the joys of getting older!) but I can still crochet as long as I’m careful so I’m happy.
Don't know why my text won't appear in full with the photo - should read "intended for the October theme (meant to represent sweet peas) - but was stalled by lockdown when I could't get the yarn I needed to finish it. Finally obtained the last missing colour a week ago!
This is a beauty. It doesn't matter how long this took as the show-stopping sublime colour use really shine.
I'm glad my theme was the beneficiary of this beauty, Lesley. Such gorgeous colours. Did you sew all those squares together or do you crochet the seams?
Oh my goodness, Lesley, this is amazing! There will be one happy, lucky, and cozy child sleeping under this beauty. Excellent work ... xo
Thanks for your lovely comments, everyone
Patricia, they were sewn together - I actually don't mind sewing crochet squares, I find them so much easier than knitted ones!
Chris, they are one of my favourites, too, especially as they hold fond memories of my dad, who wasn't a great gardener but could, and did, grow sweet peas - every year the wall at the foot of our garden was covered in their beautiful colours, and the house would be filled with their perfume when a bunch was brought indoors.
(This should, of course, appear below Chris's post!!)
Lesley I am speechless.....it is beauty, beauty, beautiful! Lots of work and lots of love has gone into this very special blanket. I love everything about it. xo
Absolutely stunning Lesley.
