It is that time of the year when we need to start rubbing/scratching our heads for ideas for next years challenges and themes!

Below is a list of the Challenges and Themes we have covered during the past 3 years - you may wish to re-visit some, or stick with some of the absolute favourites like Zig, Zags & Stripes or Variegated.

Or you may have other ideas that are totally new - the Moderator Team are having the same discussion, and, we welcome your input and guidance, so that eventually we can all come together to create a productive and creative list for 2015 that everyone can enjoy!

I loved the stripes, colour collision,, they are so bright and cheerful .a few ideas for starter ....
passion for purple
Autumn glory,
Winter warmth jumpers, gloves, thick squares, hats
Give a smile,

Four legged friends, glorious green, fabulous faces, and nifty neon.

My favorites this year were the Beauty of Blues and Color Collision

Thanks Sharon and Amy for kick starting this discussion, some good suggestions already!!!

Love those ideas :)

Here's another one that I'm sure many of us can relate too..."Snow Day"  or "Winter Wonderland"

Beth, simply because snow was so close to you last week.

Neon!! diagonals? they are so easy to do in knit? and together make such striking squares - what about Orange October for Autumn/Fall? Orange is so cheerful and great for both girls and boys

I love the idea of a winter theme, maybe Red's, Green's and White. I look forward to seeing what choices are made.

I e-mailed Gloria last week  with my suggestions, but have  just discovered this discussion board, so I putting them down here as well:  .

Ruby Reds

Greens Galore

Pleasing Purples and Pretty Pinks or:   In the Pink

Odds & Ends or Lucky Dip or Stash Busters or Slash that Stash or Free for All

Land, Sea and Sky

Kaleidoscope Colours or Rainbow Colours

Fruit and Flowers

On the Menu [food]

My favourite among the suggestions so far - Autumn Colours.

My favourites  so far among this year's challenges - Beautiful Blues. Variegated Yarn, and Stripes

I would suggest the 'Log cabin' theme which can be done in knit or crochet and can use up all sorts of odd lengths of yarn.  I reiterate 'Stripes', thin, thick, regular, irregular, diagonal because they always liven up a blanket.  How about Granny Squares?  How many colours can we get into a Granny Square?

And thank you for such delicious names for themes.

You're so right about the log cabin idea to use up odds, Mili. I've never tried them but imagine they're super easy.
Great ideas everyone. My suggestion is a shapes theme, and "in the garden".

Thanks Gina, have added to the above list.

As you work at the 'coalface' of KAS and get to see the children, is there anything you think they would particularly appreciate in terms of the themes, knitted goodies etc.,?
