This month KAS is looking to the skies for inspiration for our squares, blankets, hand-warmers, beanies and cuddly soft toys.
Planets, stars, the sun,
the moon, rainbows,
clouds, and anything in the sky.
Then there is the Zodiac.
Chinese New Year Symbols
And so much more to explore!
Be as creative as you can be. Remember, there are appliques and all sorts of techniques that you can use to embellish your squares and blankets, beanies and hand-warmers.
Also, the most important square to any KAS blanket is the Plain Jane, PJ, as it is the perfect background for all other squares.
We can not wait to see your amazing creations.
Our pattern of the Month is from the KAS Pattern Book.

Well Amy what a fabulous, interesting and inspiring introduction!!! Your little friend is a cutie too. ❤️
Delightful little monkey. What is your sign in the Chinese Zodiac? Thanks, Amy?
Year of the Monkey
Years of the Monkey: 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016, and 2028.
The Monkey is the ninth of 12 animals in the recurring 12-year Chinese zodiac cycle. The 12 zodiac animals are, in order: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. A Monkey year occurs every 12 years.
LOVE your monkey....he is so sweet/mischievous-looking. :))
I have just googled.....never knew what my Chinese symbol was before.....was pleasantly surprised!!
Super introduction Amy and love your monkey.
Super theme intro, Amy!! And your little fellow from the Chinese New Year calendar is precious.
I guess the sky's the limit on this one :)))) Blue skies, fluffy or stormy clouds, sun dogs, moon shapes, aurora borealis, sunrises and sunsets all create some very interesting patterns ... and colors for PJs! I often wonder how many dedicated PJ makers we have out there. Wouldn't be lovely if they could all post photos, too. I'd love to see it their work.
Whatever our contributors create will be the sun, moon, and stars to a child in SA ... xo
Gloria you have hit the nail on the head. I was lucky enough to be in SA last week; it was a whistle stop guided tour which included an unexpected visit to one of the improving townships. All I can say is there is still a lot of room for improvement. Just couldn't get KAS out of my mind while we were there and ever since we returned. I've been absent from the forum for ages because I was doing a lot of knitting for refugee/homelessness causes but seeing the reality on the ground in the Cape area, Garden route area, and Pretoria to Kruger really made me think very hard indeed. So as you say, "whatever our contributors create will be the sun, moon and stars to a child in SA". It really will.
Anne, thank you for sharing this with us. There is too much need everywhere and we all do whatever we can. I'm sure your refugee/homelessnes causes are glad of your support. Every little bit we do can make a difference in someone's life ... xo
Thank you for sharing with us, Anne.
