Group B

Wow! Love the 7th one down in group B!  Would love to know how that was made! Impressive!

Yes, Brenda, that was one of the amazing creations from Sharon B. of the USA. This was the reply she posted in response to compliments she received about it on the Forum:

"Thank you all for your very kind comments.

Mary, the pattern is free, available here:  Wayback Machine (archive.org)

If you are a member of Ravelry (free to join), you can see and read about the projects made from the pattern here: Ravelry: An African Adventure pattern by Horst Schulz

It looks complicated, but is actually a very easy pattern to follow.   I'm only a beginner knitter, and I followed the pattern as written without any trouble, except that I had a hard time deciding on all the colors.  I simplified my choices by deciding to use the bright green in the middle of all the "bowties", and used the same grey and white combination for all the "railroad tracks".

It was a fun pattern to make."

Thanks for your kind words, Brenda.

And many, many thanks to Patricia for responding with all the pattern info.

Not to mention, we always send our thanks to the volunteers for taking the pictures and to Patricia for posting them here for us to see, enjoy, and be inspired by, and Boy, Howdy! aren't there so many beautiful blankets to inspire us!

Awesome! Thank you for the link to the pattern. I will have to give it a try when I'm feeling a bit more brave!  :)

Stunning collection.   I spy my green/bonus buzz mix baby blanket, and the leftover stripes and red patterned panels of mine.   There are too many other beauties to congratulate everyone by name - so bravo,  bravo crafters one-and-all.

More from Opening Day last Tuesday.

Group C

Group D

Thank you for posting Patricia the first 10 are from my friends plus a couple more. I had 23 to take into the barn last week.

I think I see some of my squares in the cute teddy bear choo choo blanket in Group D.  I'm so happy!

What a gorgeous blanket to become home for some of your squares, Rosanne.
