Molly I have sent some especially for you!! I collected over 700 squares from church, which we call Liverpool Squarers. Most of them are fine and I have upsized the ones I could, but some of them just beat me! Then I thought 'I know, I'll send them to Molly, she'll know what to do with them'. Only posted them on Wednesday, so look out for them in 6/8 weeks!!

all hail the mighty granny squares !!! they are fabulous!!!

Thanks for the heads up Cath! Eventually every square finds its blanket.
I do love Cath's squares. They are all the same size and all the wool for sewing them together is "butterflied" . Just finnished joining a blue, red, white and grey one. I just need to do the border and will hand it in on Thursday. I did leave 5 of Cath's blankets for Wendy's family to join.

Cath your 700 squares will keep Molly busy. She will find a place for all of them.

I only joined No 9.
I just love these pages. I see an oversize square that was in a bag of yarn from our church op shop...I sent it in the hope it could be incorporated into a blanket, and here it is in number 1. I do love those granny squares so beautfully uniform....I'm still mastering them , so no 2 of mine ever look alike, let alone so neat....I live in hope ha ha. What an amazing team you are in SA who piece and stitch them all together..look forward to more photos

Keep going with the crochet Susanne. I was the world's slowest learner and it took me absolutely ages to make a granny but I can now. For me it got easier when I left out the chains between the clusters of three trebles (dc) except at corners (and then I only do one mostly), which not only helped me but made a closer textured square.

As we can see in these photos the granny is wonderful - so many variations, a great way of using up oddments and I hate to say this but quick once you get the hang of it.

I will keep persevering Christine. Our Church has an informal craft and coffee afternoon each Thursday. I have just retired, so when I return home I will be able to join in, and learn some tips from some of the ladies.

Wendy says that they receive many requests to join blankets as the contributor intended. This one made by Hetty in Holland is just as she visualised it.
