I was so looking forward to this challenge, especially when I received my birthday gift from my sister.

Each ball is 454 gm/ 16 oz !  I'm going to see how many squares I can make from the blue :-)

Under the Deep Blue Sea

I couldn't decide whether to post this in the July forum because of the striping or the August forum because of the blues.

So, I'm putting it in August a couple days early to start off my first square of the month.  Should be a really fun challenge!  :-))

Blue Suede <Baby> Shoes

"BLUE SUEDE SHOES" by Carl Perkins has been called the first true rock 'n' roll hit, in the sense that it was an "all market" hit. Some R&B hits had sold well in the pop market, and some country records had crossed over into the pop market. But there had never been a record that had sold well in all three markets.
You can listen to this classic hit sung by Elvis Presley (1956) here:

Oh WOW!   Susan, you have such a gorgeous collection of beautiful blue squares to inspire us!    And already there are so many ideas showing up here.... methinks it will be a great month for KAS!

Here is my first contribution ... a couple blue with yellow squares, one Tunisian Night Stitch, and one the old faithful Chain Stitch.

Flower Bloom

My first batch of 'Blues'.  Simple double crochet squares, but I got 5 from a single ball of yarn.  LOVE blue, my favourite colour so I have lots of squares planned for this challenge.

Beautiful blues already !

A basic granny square and an African flower granny; two of my favorite patterns :)

The August challenge really started off with a bang!  Wow, fabulous and beautiful squares posted already!  Here are a pair of hand warmers, to add to the "blues" theme!

August Blue hand warmers

This promises to be another great challenge, with blue one of my favourite colours.   Here is my first contribution taken froma  design that Sharon featured in an earlier challenge.  Unfortunately the light sky blue does not show up very well,  = but it is there in the rounds surrounding the central motif with a blue & white variegated wool in the outer rounds.

Here are some blue themed squares for August....

There are 25 for now and I have to confess, they started life as a pram blanket project that I never finished. All were closer to 7 than 8 inches, so I spent a few days sewing in ends, adding rows and resizing. I'm hoping to make an extra 10 squares this month to complete the blanket. x
