Happy August, everyone!

This is the one month in the year when I can take some time to breathe and relax - and do LOADS of knitting and crocheting!

It also means I am able to host a theme and spend a bit more time on the forum.

The KAS pattern book has a good selection of knitted and crocheted squares with different patterns and textures, for a starter. The wider Internet is alive with a rich variety of choices, if, like me you have a little more time this month and want to try some thing new.

So this is the month to rake through your stash and find all those weird bits and bobs of eyelash, fuzzy and pom-pom yarns that you never know what to do with!

Of course, this will then create space to buy some lovely new yarns...

Hopefully, that's whetted your appetite and got your creative juices flowing!

Let's see how many people are brave enough to try out at least ONE new stitch or technique this month.

As you upload your photos onto the main site, I will add them to our photo album for the month, which you can view here:

Happy creating!

My fave of this pretty collection is the one with the 'fun fur', Joan.....knitted in my fave colours and then the 'fluffy stuff', just adds a bit of glam.......pretty, pretty, pretty!!!!!

Loving your eyelash cuffs Joan.......another 4 gorgeous pairs of hand warmers, thank you xx

More of 'Joan's Jewels'! Lovely!

2 diagonal squares featuring stripes of eyelash yarn on ine and fluffy yarn in the other.

Fluffy perfection. Love it.

Gorgeous purple square with lots of eyelash.....i can see you're determined to use up all the pink fluffy stuff........Joan, don't worry if you run out, there's plenty more where that came from!!  Lol xx

Beautiful, Joan! Gorgeous colours combined with fascinating textures - perfect!

BEAUTIFUL squares, Joan......LOVE the colours.  :))

Oops, looks like you may have 'shot yourself in the foot'........now Louise can see how much fun fur you have used, she's just gonna wanna add more to your Christmas parcel.....lol.

Two more with the fluffy and eyelash yarn.  :)))

And another marble chunky yarn square.

All really beautiful squares, Louise - thank you so much. I think the top one is my favourite.

Thanks Heather, the top one was the most difficult yarn to knit with and impossible to crochet with....I tried and failed.

It's really hard to see the stitches in crochet, isn't it?! And if you make a mistake or drop a stitch in knitting - it's almost impossible to see and remedy!

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."

Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
