This discussion will focus on Distributions made between April and June 2022. Autumn has crept upon South Africa and the temperatures are dropping.
Many thanks to our volunteers for sharing touching stories and photos.

Athele and Estelle revisit Lion Park Informal Settlement for a distribution on April 4, 2022.
Estelle McLeod and I were so happy to be able to get back to this desperately impoverished little community, scraping out makeshift homes on this forgotten piece of veld next to the Krugersdorp Highway, especially on such a wet chilly day.
We were just helping 12 little ones this time at Eliza’s crèche who missed our last big distribution. The little ones who knew us from last time were jumping up and down with joy when they saw us pull up with our bag of beautiful care items from generous contributors of squares to KnitASquare from around the globe.
Squares from Cathy Riley and Estelle sewed them together while in the bush.
Squares collected and sewn by Athele.
Dear Estelle putting on hand-warmers.
Heather Mensah made this incredible blanket.
Thank you very much for sharing these pictures of a return distribution. It brings me joy to see colours and warmth being spread around such a needy community Xx
Isn't it great to see our volunteers try to reach everyone and give them a blanket.
This was a special effort for 12 children in need.
Lots more photos in several entries...enjoy!
Another 70+ blankets from our March distribution into Kya Sand, this collection mostly of what I loosely refer to as ‘no name’ blankets, as in we may not know the names of the kind heart who sent in the squares or who put them together, given to these just as grateful children of the desperately impoverished children of Lion Park informal settlement, north of Johannesburg. Many at KnitASquare refer to these blankets as Gogo blankets because they’re often put together by Gogo groups to whom Knit a Square make a very modest donation, but many are made by various other volunteers, groups and individuals. I tend to focus on the ‘special’ blankets, or ‘trophy blankets’ as Ronda refers to them, because I like to honour the ladies who put extra time, creativity and skill into their creations and who either follow us on Facebook or The Forum and love seeing the final home of their efforts. This particular distribution, however, there was some sort of mix up that led to maybe seven of our bags bound for Lion Park mixed up with all these ’no name’ blankets, which although disappointing for me, was no problem for all these children who are just grateful to be kept warm by our contributors’ Grace. All is well that ends well.
The Donate button provides 2 options:
Because of PayPal/banking fees, KAS asks that your donation be 5USD [or more]. Anything less, means your donation is eaten up with fees. Thank you!
Our goal is to remove the monthly deficit that Ronda and her team have to deal with. You can:
1. Make a donation whenever you are able.
2. Sign up for an ongoing monthly donation (subscription).
3. Shop at the KasShop!

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."
Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
