This is a fun way to record what we send.       

Please choose from the following list when recording what you send:

  • SQUARES
  • TOPS (includes vests, sweaters, Go-Overs)
  • BEANIES/HATS 
  • KASCUDDLES
  • SOFT TOYS (teddies, dolls, cuddly toys)
  • SCARVES/NECK WARMERS/HAND-WARMERS
  • SOCKS/UNDERWEAR (includes t-shirts, undershirts/singlets, underpants and slippers)
  • SUPPLIES FOR GOGOs (knitting needles, crochet hooks, sewing needles, yarn)
  • BITS AND BOBS (pens, pencils, books, anything that doesn't fit in elsewhere)

A TIP:

It is a good idea to check the Squares Lists every month to see when your parcels arrive.  The South African team doesn't always have time to send a reply ...although they do try !

So I have managed to pack  up and will be sending in the morning when the Post Office opens 5 parcels:

50 squares and 4 hats

60 squares and 6 hats

60 squares and 8 hats

70 squares 

50 squares and 10 hats.

Grand total is 290 squares and 28 hats.  I know that is more than a hat for every 35 squares but up to now we have only sent squares and one solitary hat.

I did forget the paper for inside one parcel (70 squares) but I wrote on the packaging that there were 70 squares and they were from the More Coffee Knitters.

Adding for Rebecca and the More Coffee Knitters: 290 squares and 28 hats. Thank you everyone, what a FABULOUS effort.  :))

Thankyou - I have a load more that I just need to get the ends sewn in and butterfly the tails.  I am meeting a friend at the cafe (and maybe some others, who knows) on Thursday afternoon to start on them.  It is great to not worry for now about how we will pay for them to be posted!!!

I am happy to report I have a parcel to send on Tuesday after the Easter break, From me 2 jumpers 10 knitted squares From a friend Thora 20 squares and from another friend Mary 46 squares all made whilst in hospital, Some friends are just wonderful Sent Mary some more wool to-day as the Doctor has told her she will be hospital for another 3 months Bev would add these to the totals for me Please

Wow !   The tally is really growing.  The volunteers in South Africa will have fun sorting through all these wonderful items !!  Mary D, please thank your friend for making squares while she recuperates....3 months in hospital would drive me 'up the wall' if I couldn't crochet :-)

I sent 35 squares and 6 hats in February. I'm just about to pack up my next set and will let you go. I didn't realize there was a tally chat.
