The Postal Strike is over and now the work begins !

April was an extremely busy month for the South African team.  They have been working very hard to clear the backlog caused by the strike.  Please be patient if your name does not appear on this month’s list.  As the photo shows, there are many parcels to open !!

Received in April                Received in May          Received in June

Tops: 684                                     246                                     505

Beanies: 1,173                            860                                     881

Squares: 22,855                    14,844                                21,723

(653 blankets)                 (424 blankets)                (620 blankets)

We have added a new category to the Squares List.

This category will be for knit/ crochet clothing items that do not qualify as “Tops”, “Beanies” or ”Squares”, e.g. KASCuddles, scarves.  The 'Other' column will be marked with an “x” to signify the arrival of the item. We will not be listing items as that would create too many categories.  We don’t want to make any more work for Ronda than is necessary !   Also, slip-ins [toys, pencils, underwear, etc.] will not be recorded.

Hi Linda.  Thanks so much for posting the April list. For the first time in forever I was able to view it, so I won't need to pester you to email it to me.  :))

Yeah !  I'm so glad you can see it.  I didn't mind emailing it but it certainly was puzzling as to why you couldn't see it.

Thanks Linda, love the picture of Oti pretending to be overwhelmed - she loves it really!

Thank you for the pics and good advice!

Is there a way I can get to contact: Tanita Sauerhofer  (Frankfurt/M--Germany)? Because I am right now in Germany visiting my family.

I just would be interested in how she sent her squares and how much it cost her since I got some more done and could just send them off from here (instead of USA).

Hi Monika,  check the members group [see tab above] for Tanita's name.  It would definitely be easier to send the squares from Germany instead of trying to stuff them in your suitcase to bring back to the USA :-)

Enjoy your visit with family.

This is absolutely amazing to see!  The number of items sent in just one month is INCREDIBLE!!! :-))

Yes Robin, the generosity of the KASfolk is wonderful !

Thanks so much for providing the additional feature to indicate that other goodies have arrived Linda - this will save no end of queries from concerned members for Ronda!

This is great Linda. Thanks :)

I've just added the June Squares List.

My name is on the list for the first time :-) Makes me happy to know my squares arrived.

So glad you found your name Lisa Marie.  It is a good feeling to know your squares will soon be in a blanket and keeping a child warm :-)

The Donate button provides 2 options:

  1. One time donation
  2. Monthly subscription               [click the box]

Because of PayPal/banking fees, KAS asks that your donation be 5USD [or more].  Anything less, means your donation is eaten up with fees.  Thank you!

Our goal is to remove the monthly deficit that Ronda and her team have to deal with. You can:

1. Make a donation whenever you are able.

2. Sign up for an ongoing monthly donation (subscription).

3. Shop at the KasShop!
