Well done everyone! The figures continue to grow year-on-year. They represent hours of caring, kindness and giving by a 'global family' of yarn workers! The January Jewel Challenge is already getting the squares & hats flowing!
Below are the totals (so far) for 2011 - once the square lists for Nov & Dec are published I'll continue to update these figures - which are a combination of Forum totals and the Square List (which only lists Squares, Hats, Vests & Sweaters) plus Ravelry keeps it own list. In fact, more is being sent, but at least the figures below will give a fair idea.

Hi Pam, I have a question re sending squares. Last week I posted 25 squares of which 24 were a ready-to-use-blanket (the one on the pictures on my KAS page). Question: will this blanket be counted as 24 squares? Next question: do I have to fill in a list myself, if so, where can I find it, or will this be done in RSA? Tks so much for yr reply. I have forwarded more garments and in the package is an accompanying letter with list of goods.
I feel very honoured that my go-over is on your combined tally list, a lovely surprise :)
Big hug
Anneke
Thanks Anneke for your kind comments. Add 25 squares to the tally to keep it simple - it is just a 'fun' list to give Forum Members an idea of what is being sent, much more is actually arriving because the team in South Africa simply do not have the time to write up such a complex Square List each month.
The team publish the official Square List on the website (http://www.knit-a-square.com/squares.html) - it is limited to Squares, Hats & Sweaters. (for their own sanity!)
However, they do love to receive the letters that members enclose and it is very helpful if the letters starts with a list of items that the package contains. Thanks for the hug too - they are lovely, as you give one, so you receive one!
O Pam thanks so much :). I will add to the fun-list what has gone in the mail last week. xxx Anneke

I would like to add the number of squares I'm about to post but don't know how
Kathy, just copy and paste the most recent tally into your reply, then change the number of squares to include yours. Hope this helps.
Kathy, if you haven't learned how to copy and paste just report the numbers that you're sending and someone else will add them for you.
BTW, I wasn't implying that you SHOULD know how to copy and paste-it's just that being self-taught on the computer(mostly by trial and error) I am always excited if I think I can help someone else find out how to do something!
