Well done everyone!  The figures continue to grow year-on-year. They represent hours of caring, kindness and giving by a 'global family' of yarn workers!  The January Jewel Challenge is already getting the squares & hats flowing!

Below are the totals (so far) for 2011 - once the square lists for Nov & Dec are published I'll continue to update these figures - which are a combination of Forum totals and the Square List (which only lists Squares, Hats, Vests & Sweaters) plus Ravelry keeps it own list.  In fact, more is being sent, but at least the figures below will give a fair idea.

Hi Barbara,

Lovely to have you back. The listings that you are looking at refer to an ongoing challenge that started last summer. The aim is for over a million squares ( A Squillion) to be made and sent by Summer 2012. To do this we were asked to recruit other knitters and organisations such as retirement homes. There was a separate tally for these plus squares but it became confusing so everything is now under this one tally. For more information the discussions are here http://square-circle-forum.ning.com/forum/topics/square-million-sus...  and here http://square-circle-forum.ning.com/forum/topics/knitasquillion-1.

As you have squares to send just add them in the appropriate place as normal.

Hi Barbara, nice to have you back !

Hi, could someone please add: 5 squares, 3 pairs slippers, 8 pairs of socks and 3 crochet hooks to the tally for me as I still can't copy and paste.

Posting today    5 hats

12 squares

3 Vests

6 Slipovers

Please could someone add these to the totals.. thanks

Have added Angela's total and Grace's into the current tally.

Our school, Lynngate Jr PS in Toronto ON has just mailed off 50 squares.  Made by kids ages 8-11.  Might not be the prettiest squares going, but it's the thought that counts, right? :)

Well done children. They don,t need to be prietty to keep a child warm.

I am sorry I don,t know how to cut and paste.  I only use my laptop for emails, knittingand crochet websites and recipe websites.etc.

Please can somebody add these to the tally thank you.  Squares 51.vests 2. hats 17.
