2011 TALLY - Re-opened for Garments, hats, cuddles etc

hello all my lovely KAS friends, we had another late start again this year but its time to get this tally rolling (I imagine that some of you have been patiently waiting, wondering, 'where is that tally?" for a while.

by now, many of you know the drill - when its time for you to add your items, take a look at the most recent reply and add your items to that total, then post the new total in your comment. if you need help, then tell us what you made and how many, and somebody will add them in for you.

we also have a tally over in ravelry going as well, and if you are also a ravelry KAS member then please do not add your items to both tallies as it will throw off our results.

now lets get this going.

last years numbers (slightly over twice as many squares as the year before, well done everyone!)

15,149 squares  (about 631 blankets, on average)

907 hats

25 blankets

23 gloves

117 Go Overs

12 Jumpers

14 baby items

3 scarves

0 gloves

0 Go Overs

0 Go Overs

Might I add that at the moment we do NOT need any baby items except the KAS Cuddles. Hats need to fit adults or teens as the 2-3 year olds fit that size already and the hat will grow with them.  I am curious, Kyla, what was the Ravelry total for squares, hats and slip-overs and Cuddles?  Just plain curious. :)

Tally ho!!

Needed to get cracking after the Christmas break and start clearing  the backlog - 2 more contributors are waiting for me to collect stuff so today I posted 2 Cuddles, 127 squares and  5 baby blankets so totals now

6 hats

2 KAS Cuddles

0 gloves

0 Go Overs

Ravelry year end totals for 2010: 4433 squares, 90 hats, 8 vests, 16 sweaters

I think thats pretty good for the first week of the year,

I think you guys are stunning!  All this in the first week of January!  BRAVO everyone!!!!  Carol you deserve a nice cuppa.  Sit and relax for five eh?

love, Jeanne :D

Thank you so much for doing this Kyla.  Just thought everyone might like to know the total tallies since day dot - this is from the total community many of whom are outside of the forum.  That is from January 17 2009 - December 24 2010

Squares: 166,537

Hats: 7388.

Vests: 986

Jumpers:  4006

The total goals for 2011 will be 140,000 squares,  5000 hats, and 1500 jumpers and vests/other garments.

If the forum members were to climb to 2,500 then what percentage of those tallies do you think we could set a challenge to?  20%?  Say 28,000 squares,  1000 hats, and 300 jumpers and vests?  Any thoughts on this?

We don't have a tally for toys, but will start one this year.

Hi Sandy!

Is there anything we're risk sending too many of? I remember that at one point there was a surplus of hats...

We love wishlists! Just write an updated one up for us, and you'll see we'll get into action!
